Creative Writing for Summertime

Creative Writing for Summertime is a relaxed, welcoming workshop for anyone, regardless of experience or ability.

We'll begin with tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat before easing into a series of playful writing activities inspired by summer. Using photographs, music, objects, memories and unusual prompts, we'll explore everything from sunny holidays and ice cream vans to rain showers, gardens and long evenings by the campfire. 

There'll be no pressure to write perfectly or share your work unless you'd like to. Instead, we'll spend time experimenting with words through sensory writing, imagination games, short creative exercises and soundscape-inspired prompts, discovering stories, poems and memories along the way. 

Bring your sunnies as there’ll be loads of bright ideas as we let our imaginations shine and bid farewell to the season of sun.
