About the event

A relaxed, thoughtful space where we gather to read poems aloud, share interpretations, and learn from one another. Each month focuses on a poet, theme, or style — sometimes classic, sometimes modern, sometimes surprising. There’s no pressure to know anything beforehand; you’re invited to read, listen, or simply soak in the language. Together, we look at what makes a poem work, how it moves us, and the techniques that give it power. It’s a warm way to end the week, especially for beginners looking to deepen their understanding of poetry without any pretence.

This event runs as part of City of Poets Takeover of Knightswood Pavillion as they make February the COOLEST month. To see the full programme of events, see our Events homepage or email glasgowcityofpoets@gmail.com .
