Langside Library: A New Chapter is a celebration of community, creativity and the enduring place of a much-loved local library.

Published as the culmination of a year-long community arts project during Langside Library's refurbishment, this booklet brings together creative writing, poetry, memories and artwork inspired by the library and the surrounding Langside-Battlefield community.

Supported by Glasgow Life and the Langside Area Partnership, the project brought together local residents, children, schools, poets, gardeners, librarians, former residents and New Scots. Working alongside local artist Dan MC of Spraywell Murals, contributors explored four central themes: HISTORY, HAVEN, NATURE and LEARNING.

From the area's rich history and the library's place within it, to its role as a welcoming community space and a hub of knowledge, the collection captures a wide range of perspectives, experiences and aspirations for the future.

Featuring contributions from people aged five to over eighty, Langside Library: A New Chapter is both a record of a unique community collaboration and a testament to the creativity, knowledge and connections that make a local library matter.
